The Second Edition of the SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol – A Lawyer’s Review ( 17 May 2017)
On the 17th May, SCL(S)’s professional development committee held a seminar on The Second Edition of the SCL Delay and Disruption Protocol. Nicholas Brown of Pinsent Masons, presented his paper on a lawyer's review on the protocol.
Nicholas’ paper presented was structured and provided a detailed analysis of the rationale and evolution of the protocol. It also dealt with his personal critics. Nicholas keeping very much to the text also kindly made available his paper.
Attended by 84 participants, the question and answer session lasted well over 30 minutes and was highly engaging with several of the participants sharing their practical insights both from Singapore and Malaysia.
In chairing the evening, I also provided a brief overview of the Malaysian Supplement to SCL Delay & Disruption Protocol launched by SCL(Malaysia) on 20th January in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia where I represented SCL (International) and its Liaison committee and spoke on the then soon to be launched 2nd edition and the discussions that took place during the SCL 6th International Construction Law Conference in São Paulo, Brazil in September 2016.
