Council Member's Message - October 2026

Dear members and friends of SCL (Singapore),
It is a privilege to introduce myself as the new Chair of SCL (Singapore)'s Publications Committee with utmost gratitude to Chris Rudland as the outgoing Chair for his tireless contributions during his tenor.
For many years, SCL (Singapore) has served as a trusted forum for the exchange of ideas, experiences and developments across the construction industry. Our newsletter plays an important role in that mission, bringing together perspectives from legal practitioners, industry professionals, consultants, academics and others who contribute to the built environment sector.
The aims of the Publications Committee remain the same - building on the excellent work of our predecessors by continuing to provide content that is timely, practical and relevant to our members. In an industry that is constantly evolving, the sharing of knowledge and diverse viewpoints has never been more important.
Looking ahead, the Publications Committee will be exploring ways to further enhance the newsletter and broaden member engagement. Alongside articles on legal and industry developments, we hope to feature a wider range of thought leadership pieces, event highlights and other content that reflects the breadth of expertise within our community.
We would like to also take the opportunity to encourage members to share ideas, propose topics, and contribute articles or insights that may be of interest to the wider SCL community. Your contributions are what make this publication valuable.
Finally, on behalf of Council, we would like to once again remind everyone to sign up for our biggest event in Singapore coming this November - SCL (Singapore) Conference entitled “Technology, Legal Innovation and Singapore’s Built Future” promises to be engaging and relevant to industry players!
Best regards,
Wynne Tay
Publications Committee Chair, SCL (Singapore)
