SCLS’ “Construction Law 101 8th Run” (Oct 2017) & SAL’s “Building and Construction Law Course for Legal and Industry Practitioners” (July 2017)
SCLS will conduct the 8th run of its successful “Construction Law 101” course over 4 evenings on 26 Oct, 31 Oct, 2 Nov and 7 Nov 2017. For more details and to register, click HERE. With the promotion of education in construction law being one of our key objectives, SCLS is proud to be the pioneer of this short course designed for practitioners in the construction industry interested in the basic principles of construction law, targeted at both non-lawyers in the construction industry as well as lawyers seeking an introduction to this area.
In this spirit, SCLS is also pleased to support the SAL’s “Building and Construction Law Course for Legal and Industry Practitioners”.
This is a three-weekend, 27-hour course for legal and industry practitioners who wish to have a better grasp of Building and Construction law. As this is not a basic course, registrants should have some knowledge in this area of law (5 years’ PQE, BCA Certification Course in Construction Law and Contracts, SCLS’ Construction Law 101 or the equivalent). Topics covered include Contract Documents & Risk Management; Time for Completion; Variations; Payment Regime and Security of Payments; Subcontracting; Termination; Handover and Post-Completion Issues and Dispute Resolution.
